20 Apr 08 Reliance Energy Name Change Details

Reliance Energy has gone in for a name change from Reliance Energy Limited to Reliance Infrastructure Limited. The company think tank feels that from being a pure power generation, transmission and distribution company Reliance Energy has moved on to tap the potential of the Indian infrastructure sector. Hence the name change from Reliance Energy to Reliance Infra will more aptly reflect the the space in which the company operates. The Reliance Infrastructure name change will not cause loss of any shareholder rights.

01 Nov 07 VSNL goes for name change : To be renamed Tata Communications

VSNL, Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited had decided to go in for a change of name and will be known as Tata Communications in the future. The change of name from VSNL to Tata Communications has been made in order to leverage on the brand equity of the TATA’s. It is to be mentioned that VSNL, which was owned by the government, was acquired by the TATA group a few years back.

09 May 07 Videocon Communications changes name to Trend Electronics

Videocon Communications has informed the Indian stock exchanges that the board of directors of Videocon Communications have approved change of name from Videocon Communications to Trend Electronics. The effective date for the name change from Videocon Communications to Trend Electronics is May 01 2007.
