10 Aug 07 Central Bank IPO allotment status
Central Bank IPO allotment status is ready & can be found online here. The Central Bank of India IPO got oversubscribed heavily. Investors who applied for 16 lots (960 shares), under the retail investor category will get a firm allotment and for all other investors allotment will be made through the lottery system. With the banking sector being affected by the U.S. Sub prime mortgage crisis, it would be interesting to see at what price CBI IPO lists on the markets.

I checked my application status and found no shares alloted to me in the intime spectrum site. I feel happy at this bad market status I am lucky not to get any shares of CBI.

@Vageesan – Yes, you are lucky indeed. With so much happening in the US sub prime crisis front, I wouldn’t want to take the risk of getting CBI shares alloted. However, in case the market doesnt fall further and recovers from here on, CBI might provide listing gains. But seeing how badly the shares of ICICI Bank and SBI have been beated down, CBI might provide listing losses in case the market doesnt recover by the time CBI lists on the markets.
@Pravesh – Good luck to you. Hope and pray that you don’t lose money on CBI.

i have not been received any shares of cbi. i have registered my account with intime so they send me an email saying no allotment have been made to you and your refund is being sent by post. my dp account is with icicidirect in patna where the ecs facility is available. then why intime send me cheques. earlier i got direct credit of refund to my account from karvy and even from intime in allied digital ipo. pls let me know what should i do?
@alam – there are a lot of people who are facing this problem with the CBI IPO. I’m not sure why the refund is being made through cheques in case of CBI. There is nothing much you can do from your side.

@Rajesh – CBI should list close to its IPO issue price. However, its trading at a premium of Rs. 30 in the grey market. The grey market premium of CBI offers a glimmer of hope for investors who got allotment in the central bank IPO.

@asha – central bank ipo refund has been sent long back. If you have still not received it, it means that there is some postal delay/loss or the refund has been sent to a wrong address. contact intime spectrum and sort out the problem

I still have not got my CBI IPO money returened. My attempt to contact Intime registry was not succeeded as the person who takes the phone does not answer properly or won’t transfer the phone to Mr.Mahadevan or the registrar. Some of the phone numbers are always busy (24 hrs) and 10 different phone numbers. How do I proceed legally to sue this Registrar, could you please give me how to proceed in this regard to get my money back(25,000)
I have not received 36000 and face similar problems. No response to mails. Phones always engage.
