Dear sir
what is your opion about central bank of india ipo. it is worth to apply.
how many times will oversubscribe .
ketan
@ KETAN,
Recent history suggests that when the IPO size is large, it usually subscribes to 1 to 4 times in retail category.
@ BULLISH BHAI,
As far as I remember, you only once had booked loss (of only Rs 1/- per share)in last 100 IPOs in 5-6 years and that was INDIAN BANK. Will you please recollect the details of that IPO and compare the same with Central Bank IPO ? Your kind homework and advice based thereon will help all retail investors tremendously.
Regards,
Anil Batra.
@akkbatra – The loss in Indian Bank was because between the time the ipo closed and it got listed, a lot of bad news flowed and the entire banking industry got hit. there was CRR hike and so on. Central bank IPO looks interesting. But i’ll take my final decision after looking at the subscription figures on the last day of subscription, just as I do for all IPO’s
Dear All,
I remember Indian bank was listed when there was hike in the CRR. That’s why it was listed (Rs.75) w/o any gain. But you see today, it is trading in the range of 150-160.
Central bank will easily have good listing gains.
Keep investing…
Central bank seems to be good IPO. 3rd largest branch n/w in India after SBI, PNB. Already trading @ 20% premium in gray mkt
If we invest in Central Bank Of India as an NRI for Rs.200,000/- would you suggest to apply in mine & wife’s name under retail trench or as bulk, single applicant? What is the price tag you suggest to put?
Thanks & regards

Definitely it is going to be good IPO. But should not be sold on listing. It should be kept for some time.
Varghese, put 2 applications of 960 shares at cut off price- one for you and on for your wife.(Retail category)
You will surely get allotment and 3-5% return on your investment in 25 days time.
Hi,
I am really new to share market. I am planning to quote for 300 shares of central bank, 40 shares of zylog, 60 shares of Omnitech. Is this ok, or very less when investing? I want to get some quick gains, also some of these shares i want to retain..Please help me.
Regards
Ann
Instead of appying for smaller lots in different PO’s, it always advisable to apply for bigger lots in a good IPO. So the chances of alltment will be more.. If u apply for different IPO’s with 1 or 2 lots , its for sure that u r not gonna get any….
Have a happy time investment…
Dear KD,
Where do you check gray market premiums for upcoming IPO’s? Is there a website/blog? Please let me know.

Dear Investor
Indemnity bond is a banking requirement, the options for resolving your case is either to wait till the article returns or refund banker requires indemnity bond from the concerned refundee on a non judicial stamp paper of Rs 200/- duly notarised for issuance of duplicate refund instrument. You may have to execute the same so that a duplicate refund instrument can be processed subject to the payment status of the original refund order being still unpaid.

@Nishant – Though it sucks, this is the standard procedure for getting a duplicate refund order. The bank needs to ensure that you don’t cash in on both the refund orders. The bank can’t give a stop payment for the first cheque since if they give a stop payment without getting a indemnity bond from you, investor might later sue the bank for giving stop payment without getting the request for a new cheque in writing.
I suggest you send them the indemnity bond as soon as possible and in future opt for the RTGS facilty to get IPO refunds.
@Bullish, how to opt for RTGS facility, when applying through online, say, in icicidirect.com ?
@Venkat – You will need to update this when you open your demat account. Typically, you will need to check the field which says “use ECS facility for receiving dividends, refunds etc” and provide a cancelled cheque for MICR number.
