21 May 08 Change of Web Server
This blog will soon go in for a change of web host. Though the current web host whose service is being used for hosting this blog has a pretty good customer support team and has been consistently offering a very high uptime, the server resources seem to be grossly insufficient for this self hosted blog, causing the blog to load very slowly especially during peak time. I was looking at the top web hosts in order to pick one of them which suits my need and more importantly my budget. The top 10 web hosts as summarised by web hosting choice, which reviews the leading web host companies online, seem to be equally good and reputable. Yahoo and go daddy seem to be out of my budget, so I’ll probably give them the slip. Among the other web hosts, blue host and host gator have caught my eye. I’ll probably pick one of them and move this blog to their server. Though, I’ll try my best to make the change of servers go smoothly, without any downtime, do bear with me if the site is not accessible or if there are problems accessing the site for a couple of days till the Domain Name Servers (DNS) propogate fully across the internet.
