I was searching for good quality laser etching machines which I could use for etching my company logo on my laptop, when I found a video of a guy using a laser etching machine to etch a tattoo in his arm. I was initially shocked but on doing some research on this topic, I found that this process might not be as harmful or as painful as I initially thought it would be. For starters, here’s what a laser etching machine does. A laser etching machine typically uses a very highly concentrated beam of laser which is focused to such a degree that it will remove small bits of the material, on which the laser beam is focused, using heat. This leaves a precise mark or hole on the material. Sound’s scary doesn’t it! But then, it seems today’s laser etching machines and laser engraving machines are so precise and accurate that they can burn an image on a tissue without going through it.
