23 May 07 NIIT Technologies to issue Bonus Shares : Record Date Fixed
The board of directors of NIIT Technologies have approved the issue of bonus shares in the ratio of 1:2 (1 bonus share for every 2 shares held). The bonus issue will be made by capitalising the free reserves of NIIT. The board of NIIT Technologies has also resolved to increase authorised share capital from Rs 45 crores to Rs 75 crores. This is to provide for the increase in the paid up capital of NIIT Technologies once the bonus is made.
Update : The NIIT Bonus issue record date has been announced. The record date as announced by NIIT Tech is 31th August 2007.

NIIT Technologies Ltd has informed that August 31, 2007 has been fixed as the Record Date for the purpose of determining the name of members entitled to receive bonus shares in the ratio of 1:2 (i.e. one additional equity share for every two equity shares held).
I have bought 10 NIIT shares on 1st of August. Am I eligible fo rthe bonus?
I have bought NIIT shares on August 28 and August 30. Will I be eligible for the bonus shares on any of these dates of purchase? and
If yes, when and how will I receive the bonus shares.
Plz enlighten me.
Yes for 28th, & probably No for 30th purchase.
The website of NSEIndia shows the record date for 1:2 bonus as 31st August.
The amount of shares you purchased on 28th Aug, is logically surely, entitled for bonus.
However, on NSE website 30th August is shown as Ex-date, though record date is 31st aug. So, this part is unclear.
The company registrar should give you correct answer.
