10 Jan 08 Tata Nano from Tata Motors – Specifications of the People’s Car
Tata Nano aka people’s car aka 1 lakh car has finally been released by Tata Motors. Ratan Tata unvieled the People’s car today. Before the release there were rumours that the 1 lakh car was named Tata Jeh. Some liked calling it Tata Indiva. I can’t remember any other new car release getting so much attention. Tata Nano received as much hype and attention which a Rajinikanth movie would get on the day of its release, in TamilNadu. The technical specifications of Tata Nano are as mentioned below.

The specifications of Tata Nano, especially the safety related ones seem really scarry. I guess most people would be better off travelling by a bike rather than using this car. But with India being highly price sensitive, Tata Motors could have just pulled one off. Reactions from competitors, especially from Maruti Udyog Limited is awaited. If Tata Nano becomes a hit and if there is competition in this segment, there would definitely be concerns of an environmental disaster. Tata Nano could lead to lakhs of new automobiles hitting already clogged Indian roads , adding to mounting air and noise pollution. I really doubt if the crowded roads of Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkatta and Bangalore can handly such a stepp increase in automobile traffic.

Incapability of roads to handle congenstion is not something that is car’s fault. He has kept his promise. It is government’s responsibility to provide required infrastructure. just eats up our taxes. If people of the country starts demotivating giant groups like TATA then the country can not go ahead. The country will grow only with , Steel, L&T, ONGC, IOCL, Reliace etc. Remember they are infrastucture provider. And let me tell you even if IT is not gonna be there these giant hardcore groups will exist and will lead the country to the growth path.
Tata is the best : All the big companies will make more cheap models…. something around 3500$

“A Promise is a Promise”. This is what Mr. Ratan Tata said when he launched TATA Nano. He gave a perfect answer to people who said it’s not feasible to manufacture a car in Indian Rs. 1, 00,000.
The product TATA Nano is simply amazing. TATA Nano is believed to a mileage of 24kms for every liter of fuel, 8% smaller bumper to bumper distance than Maruti 800 (competitor in India) and still 21% spacious than Maruti.
This is possible only with TATA Group. The values and culture followed at TATA Group is one of the major factors for there products being so successful. I happened to use a product called “LEARN ENGLISH THROUGH LOVE AND ROMANCE” an Edutainment product developed by Espoir Technologies who’s Creative Director & Chief Mentor happens to be Ex VP TATA Group.

By launching nano TATA has fulfilled his promise. It show the dedication towards promise.It is a giant step in the history of automobiles especially in the small cars.It could be seen as the “outcome” of the Hardworking Indian automobile engineers.It should be admired instead of criticizing. Tata has given a light to the millions of citizens of developing India who are dreaming for car.Answer to the “environmental disaster” should be asked from the well developed countries instead of Tata.

Tata nano car will help to keep dignity of middle class family… they no more have to ride 4 family member at a time in scooter or bike.
The writer of this article sounds like a critic but he definitely does not qualify to be one.I wonder whether he has ever driven a two wheeler in our roads or lost a dear one in an accident to talk about safety issues of this car. To talk about safety, the most unsafe thing to drive in our road conditions is to be behind a two wheeler handle bars. Thanks to our chaos we pride ourselves calling it road sense or the lack of it.
Well the market has not yet used these wheels yet. Let it decide the car’s fate. It is one aching fact that as Indians that we are we cannot muster enough courage to appreciate some company’s effort in achieving something which no one has done in the automotive industry.
And most of such hypocrites are consumed in the race to save the planet. Buddies Wake-up! Al Gore and Mr.Pachauri’s team have won the nobel price for their stellar contributions. All such statements are just contributing too much to the hot air (E-irritation house effect)in the internet which throughly needs a clean up.
Lets be appreciate of the promise kept and try to find out whether it has been truly delivered.
