Indian software major Wipro Technologies reported a net profit of Rs. 856 crore for the Q4 2007 quarter, ending March 2007, as compared to Rs. 765 crore for Q3 December 2007. This implies a growth of 11.85% despite rupee appreciation and the hedging cost. Wipro Technologies’ revenues increased by 8.89% to Rs. 4333 crore from Rs 3979 crore.
For the Q1 2008 quarter, ending June 2007, Wipro expects to post revenues of around $711 million from its global IT services business. Wipro’s IT operating profit margin (OPM) stood at 28% and its BPO operating profit margin stood at 24.7%. The Wipro stock was trading at Rs. 587, up over 1.40% from yesterday’s close.
